  There’s nothing wrong with having a small collection as long as it actually means something to you. It’s easy to feel detached with a huge collection when you don’t even care about 85% of it

  Seeing this video pop up on my feed as I'm downsizing my collection of things because I have too much and it's grown out of hand. I feel that collection gene part.

  That adulthood mental shift regarding certain interests is also hitting me right now for the first time too. It really is strange to go through, cause as you said it's expected as teenager but generally i guess we feel like well into our 20s we're pretty solidified in what currently we gravitate to and that it won't change too drastically going forward

  My current challenge regarding my personal collection isn&apos;t really about whether or not to sell it; thankfully, I’m able to stop at a point where I’m satisfied, provided I have a valid reason. <br>Exactly—owning a rare collection gives you an unparalleled dopamine rush; simply looking at the collection makes you feel grateful for the day. <br>I know plenty of collectors who talk about greed and the like—debating when they’ll eventually sell off their collections once they no longer need them. <br>But I’ll say it again: thankfully, I know exactly what I want to collect and how I’ll go about it, even though some of the games—and even some of the consoles—I’m aiming for are hard to come by.

  I absolutely feel guilty when I have hundreds of items on my shelf that I haven&apos;t really made use of whether it&apos;s games or books or movies whatever the collection against the point where it&apos;s overwhelming if you can&apos;t interact with it beyond just dusting your shelf every few weeks

  i think being able to bear such a perspective (in the middle of such a scalper-heavy environment these days) is something really profound to have. i tend to find myself sort of negotiating with my ocd tendencies of &apos;i definitely want this, just in case&apos; every now and then, like what you brought up in the video, so i do think that amidst everything we now face at such close proximity online with literally every other company shoving new and attractive editions in our faces, this concept of reevaluation is definitely an area i agree we should consider exploring more often. of course, collection isn&apos;t inherently unhealthy and as long as there is a genuine attachment to what someone&apos;s looking to keep, it shouldn&apos;t be &apos;prevented&apos;. but i really loved the pointers brought up in this conversation just because it&apos;s a lot more refreshing and intentional of an idea

  &quot;How do you start a collection?&quot; is a misguided question, I&apos;d always respond &quot;If you had an urge to start a collection you&apos;d not be asking this, you&apos;d already have started with something you bought, enjoyed, and decided to collect the rest of the stuff in that something&apos;s vicinity&quot;
