  As someone who goes to Japan frequently and always stops in every HardOff I'm near, the most frustrating or stressful thing is deciding when and where to pull the trigger on buying something. There's always the "well I might find a better price or better quality at the next one!" and then you often DON'T find a better one, but you're too far now to go back or you forget which store had the thing you were debating on so it's gone forever. lol

  There are local collectors in Japan, too, and while Hard Off is frequented by otaku almost every day—though that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll find good items there—there’s still a big price difference between Tokyo and the countryside. That said, interacting with the locals was really heartwarming.
