Just a tip: I think you guys should do one of these for people that already have osteoporosis. Men and women. And a lot of people think only women get osteoporosis.

We live in the Bay Area and a few months ago were walking from Chinatown to North Beach...went by the Chinese Convalescent home and saw an army of residents on their walkers with a younger woman with a red vest in front and another in a red vest at the sweep position in back. They took off all the way up the Hill for their Sunday Outing to the activity they go to in the heart of Chinatown...it was a giant hill and we were sweating...later we drove by the Embarcadero and older Asians were all out walking and practicing Tai Chi. I've seen this in Stanley Park in Vancouver also. The man that was most impressive was over 90 and blind at the edge of Golden Gate Park walking his guide dog to Ocean Beach...Docs that's over a mile downhill! The moral of the story is always live in a community of Asians if at all possible...they aren't stopping and neither should anyone else..!!!

I recently thru hiked the Appalachian Trail, and upon carrying my backpack up and down mountains for six months, my bone density increased substantially. I wasn't even taking my calcium supplements.

When I was a young nurse I would run up the stairs to the 5th floor so I wouldn’t be late to morning report. I was always active through my life. I started lifting weights at 65 years old and slowly went up to lifting 140 pounds. I did this for 4 years until my life went to h*ll. We took care of my husband’s mom ,with dementia, until I was 72 years. I still tried to stay active. But within the next 4 years we lost my mom- in-law, then I lost my precious husband, then lost my sister, my brother, and my depression doctor that I had been seeing for 19 years. I also lost my emotional support kitty when she was 21.9 years old. Then of course Covid showed up. I have degenerative arthritis but I’m still trying to be active doing chair yoga and still lifting weights but much less than 140 pounds. Last year I came very close to leaving this world and lost most of my muscles. My back, hips, and knees &nbsp;are a mess with degenerative arthritis, but I’m still trying to regain those muscles with chair yoga and lifting 5 lb weights. I am determined to keep going at 81 years. &nbsp;I just cannot stay still.<br>I like to watch your very informative videos. 💖🌹💙

Been going to the gym since high school. I am now 71. Recently my gym added personal training. I use the trainer and he gives a tough workout for sure. I am not seeing others in the gym use him. What a great benefit to be included in the membership. Its not easy but I look and feel great. 🏋

The other benefit to resistance training is strengthening the muscles that protect your spine, improve your posture, prevent falls and maintain independence

I have osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. I do weight-bearing exercises, walk, ride a bike, and do heel drops. Fortunately, my osteoporosis has moved into the osteopenia stage, but I continue with all of my exercises. Plus, I really watch what I eat, making sure I get the appropriate nutrients to keep my bone density at a good range.
