  The really sad thing is, that the 5 children never had to die. Nicholas tried to send them out of the country again and again, but every time Alexandra had another excuse for, why they couldnt go. And eventually it was too late to leave.

  There's no way the son could have survived being shot.  He was a hemophilic and even in the best of times his blood didn't clot. Even a miner gun shot wound would be a death sentence for him.

  Nicholas’ cousin George of England failed the family. They could have saved the Romanovs by taking them in as exiles even for humanitarian reasons but he refused.

  In 2007, a separate grave containing the remains of the two missing children was discovered near the original burial site. <br>Final Identification: <br>DNA testing on the remains from the second grave confirmed they belonged to Alexei and the missing daughter, who was later identified as Maria, according to Discover Magazine. <br>Burial: <br>The remains of all the Romanovs, including the two children found in 2007, were eventually reburied together in St. Petersburg.

  We studied the Russian Revolution in high school history ( 30 years ago) and ive been intrigued about it ever since! Ill watch any documentary about it. Thanks for the video. <br>👋🇦🇺

  Of all the things, this &nbsp;little old lady at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSYSkRSTifM&amp;t=325">5:25</a> had me in tears. Did she just have that apple snatched out of her hand? Her expression says yes. And she is so long since gone but I wish I could have given her a bushel of apples.

  National Geographic documentary about the Romanovs can&apos;t get the identities of grand duchesses Olga, Tatiana and Maria right in their graphics? That&apos;s pretty sad.

  I don&apos;t know if anyone noticed, but in <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSYSkRSTifM&amp;t=1685">28:05</a> they highlighted the wrong grand duchess. Instead of highlighting Tatiana, they highlighted Maria and vice versa when talking about Maria and Alexei not being in the same grave. And then after that, they keep calling talking about Maria but showing Tatiana.

  Both the Tsar and the Tsarina were grandchildren of Queen Victoria. The British King at that time was a first cousin of Tsar Nicholas. I think I read that he was fearful of the Bolsheviks revolution spreading to his realm if he was seen to interfere.<br>I think he was shocked at the news of the murders of the Romanov family and regretted not doing more to rescue them.
