  The Romanovs are such tragic figures, their deaths were horrific and unnecessary. They were martyrs, poor Alexei, his fragile health made him so vulnerable. Rest in eternal peace! A beautiful documentary..thank you..❤

  George V had initially extended his hospitality to the Tsar and his family but then was strongly advised against it not because he didn’t want to be associated with the Tsar but because there was real threat of civil war in England had the plan gone ahead, and also logistics were beyond complicated. Escaping Russia required a highly dangerous naval extraction through the U-boat-infested waters to reach northern ports. There was also the issue of astronomical costs which could not be justified. So it is not as simple as described

  Maybe the parents were in some way responsible for their official deeds during their reign,  that some says their fate was justified , but their children were innocents that they didn't deserve  such horrible & brutal deaths. . .Anyway thats only my opinion and this happened a long time ago. . .But in the end they were all sanctified and considered as saints by the Russian Orthodox Church . .They were all given decent burial with  State honors in 1998 during the time of President Boris Yeltsin. . .They were all  buried now at St. Petersburg where Past Russian emperors were also buried.
