Thanks for another great documentary. Just read up on the Percy family. The Percy family took its name from the village of Percy-en-Auge in Normandy. After the Norman Conquest of 1066 William de Percy was granted extensive estates in Yorkshire, and the family built its power base there. The net worth of Ralph Percy, the 12th Duke of Northumberland, is estimated at around half a billion, so the family has done well for the past 1000 years.

I've been watching your content since the anarchy video. It's just amazing work. Detailed, well put together - if you didn't know it, you'd think you were watching a BBC production. I don't usually leave comments but I had to on this one. Anyone that can put together an hour on Hotspur... Just... Wow. And done as well as all the other videos. Just awesome. Bravo, sir.

Baron Richard Vernon of Shipbrook, Cheshire joined Henry and was a famous character in Shakespeare's retelling.

Sadly that was what happened to Shipbrook, now Davenham, Cheshire.

I wish we had history lessons like this at school instead of dreary lectures delivered by bored teachers and ancient history books, if we had I may well have listened!
Just found you and was fascinated with a piece of history I knew nothing about so I have subscribed. I now have some catching up to do!
Thank you.

I am an American, but I have always loved English History. Even more now, I’ve recently found out that I have an ancestor William de Hertley that was most likely there. He would have been 28 at the time, Yeoman, landholder and living in Condover/ Shrewsbury area. Since he still shows up in other records at later dates I assume he was on the Kings side lol. Or his land would have been seized. Probably a Longbowman I would think. Really interesting and great video!
