  I am 70. I was born at the tail end of the boomer generation. I grew up in San Francisco and knew nothing but hippies growing up. There were many different types of hippies. Those who traveled the world. Those who moved back to the land. Those who joined spiritual groups and became devotees of gurus. Those who were devoted artists and musicians and the musicians introduced world music to the United States, those who started their own hippie restaurants and cafes and introduced organic food and cooking and experimental cuisines based on foods from around the world to San Francisco, and those who sat around in Golden Gate Park and did nothing but get high. It was a very heady, revolutionary social upheaval and had its light and dark sides. Hard to explain.

  Beautiful! I did the hippy trail in 1966 hitch hiking through Turkey, Iran, &nbsp;Afghanistan and Pakistan to India. Travelled all over India for 2 years.

  I am a hippy. Born a hippy in 1956 &nbsp;to Dutch parents.....in Australia..and still here. I am a traveller and writer, Thank you for sharing your beautiful story.

  I am 76, I’ve had many adventures in my life and I would give anything to return to these days. The love ❤️ and the kindness, we took care of each other, we shared, we ate organically. Our music 🎶 was and still is the best ever. Peace and love ✌🏼❤️✊🏼

  Thank you. That made me laugh and cry. I went to India in 1970. From ashram in LA (Guru Maharaji) and &quot;Painted Lady&quot; in Haight-Ashbury in SF. England, Germany and then a community on an overgrown abandoned coffee plantation in Hawaii. How glorious it was to be naked. &nbsp;Always safe, everywhere I went! At the time I didn&apos;t know how lucky and blessed I was. It was just life, the way it should be. &nbsp;Now I do. Watching this reminded me so much of those time. The world now needs that Love and acceptance so much. Give it and receive it as much as you can.

  Thank you for sharing Eva. I am one of those original hippies too. And it was you people, who, just a few years older than me, offered me their support and guidance when my father died of cancer. Life at home with my mom was depressing and hard, but the small group of hippies in my hometown quickly adopted me and I&apos;m glad they did. <br>(Genevieve &amp; David Whitaker where have you two been? Still grateful to you. Love you very much.Md. City)<br>Anyway, over the years, and numerous adventures I found my dharma and spend my time now teaching kung-fu and practicing my sadhana. Here is my definition of the word Hippie. Hope it rings true for you.<br>Highly<br>Intelligent<br>People<br>Pursuing<br>Inner<br>Enlightenment<br> &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Our era is almost over. In another thirty years or so, few of us born before 1960 will still be here. These are the last years of our blossoming. Lets make the most of this time by enriching the lives of others. Stay strong. Be happy, be here now.<br>Wishing you health and prosperity. Peace and love. <br>Not Fade Away

  I am a boomer, but not a hippie, and i never understood them. Now i am a bit sorry that i haven’t make this at least a part of my life. The Baghwan docu was really good, unfortunately it also shown how the utopias end. So perhaps not so sorry after-all. But the sense of community, of belonging would be great vs loneliness of transient individual of modern times. At least hippies didn’t want to kill anybody

  This was my mums life. She and my father travelled from Australia to Bali, across to India, through Afghanistan and Iran. They said they were the most beautiful people. My grandmother and 3 uncles and lots of people we knew were Osho followers. The hippie life IS beautiful, but still lots of trauma plays out.

  Ohh I miss a world like that so much. My mother is from that time where it was about being free and in Peace and I was raised with Love and Peace and in this world today I miss all that so much. In my country Germany we are far away from Peace between us now and I will move to Sweden soon. Nature and decency is still there. &nbsp;I will never understand why the world cannot be this peaceful. If you have ever felt as good as this you will never want anything else. What a beautiful feeling you spread with this documentary😊❤
