My art is still worthy even if it never gets seen.

“I think art is for the creator more than anyone else.” Amen to that. 🤟

''I have a very strong sense of what's beautiful to me.'' You don't need ambition when you have this level of self-assurance; the right doors will open to you without effort.

Ambition with the need for success and approval is a terrible burden. I carried it for 70 years and it still haunts me. Thankfully my inner voice needed to be heard and I never gave up on that.

As a 38 year old who plans to move closer to the art, not have children, and wishfully move to a place where it's easier to be happy, this was extremely calming and hopeful

Looking back now 66...retired now....l was a gifted homemaker. Loved designing my home and gardens. Growing foods etc. Design was my passion but for me not others. I liked when my work was admired. So at 66 l am finally able to gift myself "My Homestead". Lifestyle. It's wonderful.

Ambition can destroy your ability to attract what is to naturally come to you. I had a huge ambition and did all kinds of things to accomplish it and it never came. The moment I let go and just acted kindly and natural it came out of the most unusual interaction and my dream came true!

'I've always been a little bit disappointed in myself that I'm not a contemporary edgy (artist)' - I wonder how many of us feel like this, something I'm battling with all the time, is it because the 'art world' holds that art to a higher esteem

I moved from Swaziland to Mauritius in August 2025 with great ambition to be the best dj, student and person. A couple of months in and I've found a new perspective that rings true to me. I have no desire to be the best at all these things. For me now life isn't about chasing greatness anymore, instead it's become about really living each moment as it comes and staying true to me.

I stopped making art once I got into university and then became an adult, where everything is measured by the value it brings. I want to make art again now, but just for me. I don't need someone to say it's good anymore.
