I used to joke with my coworkers- who would we have as part of our clan if there was a "zombie apocalypse", and oh gosh yes YOU! You are so fricking smart and strong and scrappy and good as a human. Hats off, sister.

I am Rajesh, from India and currently in Dubai. In the next 4 years, I have decided to buy 300 acres of dry land in Paraguay and start an integrated farm on it...

People that complain your not 100% off grid are mostly never going to even attempt to build any thing off grid.

Very impressed, not just a pretty face, but a savy business women. You showed a little vulnerability, but determination to succeed in your first video I watched. Good for you. You have grown.

Keep an eye on that well control box. Open it up regularly and make sure no bugs are in there. They are attracted to the heat it produces and build nests and eventually short and burn up the capacitor. Save yourself a couple hundred bucks and keep an extra well control box on hand along with the know-how to swap it out.

A homestead with a well. Man, you are living the high life. 😁

I see so many of these videos where the homesteader has to haul in water from sometimes an hour or more away. I give them all the credit in the world, but I couldn't imagine having to do that. It's not because I'm afraid of trailering. I've hauled boats on trailers (up to 39 feet) most of my life. It's the lack of convenience involved. I guess if you were not concerned with growing food or animals and it was just basic living, a trip or two each month wouldn't be that big of a deal but never having to worry about it (because you have a well) would be infinitely better.

Glad to see you are making this work. I hope the bee thing takes off for you.

Caliche is like rock. Mesquite trees means you can harvest the pods for flour if you get them when they are ripe and before the monsoons hit and never use the ones that fall to the ground.

There is an old saying. A successful negotiation is when both parties think they are getting screwed. Great info. Cheers!

While 100% not the kind of property I'd ever have purchased for an off-griid homestead, I salute you for your plan to make this place yours. With the times that I fear are coming, having somewhere well away from the unemployed starving masses could be a very good thing...
