Years ago the news was not supposed to get ratings or sell advertising. This might seem alien to people your age. Years ago this satire today it's reality.

This movie is 50 years old and only gets more relevant the more time passes. THAT'S the mark of an absolute classic.

Beatrice Straight and Ned Beatty have a combined screen time of about twenty minutes and they were both nominated for Oscars. Straight won.

So far ahead of its time in terms of content, it's scary how accurately this captures and foretells how money would forever change the news and entertainment industry.

Finally! So many great performances. William Holden being particularly underappreciated. "And I miss my home, because I'm beginning to get scared shitless, because all of a sudden it's closer to the end than the beginning, and death is suddenly a perceptible thing to me, with definable features." I mean, holy smoke, man. Powerful.
