I’ve learned this the hard way — moving speakers a few inches, fixing the listening position, or cleaning up the signal chain can change a system more than swapping another piece of gear.

One thing to add is this. I had a big box electronic store to install my 5.2.2 wiring in wall for 4years I had ran hundred of Audyssey calibrations added room treatment. I even used ChatGPT which to told me to check my wiring. Physically inspect my connector, which did and found that my installer did not fully connect my wiring inside of banana plugs some frayed and broken strands. Short wires length that left a lot of tension on the subwoofer cables, surround and in ceiling connections. My recommendation hire true A/V installer who will and do what is right the first time. I don't have a 15 grand system. But I do have KEF Q series 5.2.and two SVS subs. After checking connections and adding extensions my system sound hundreds or thousand times better. Great information

A good set of general rules. Certain power conditioners absolutely make a difference depending on your system and your house power.

The sheer irony that is saying 'pull the speakers off the wall' and showing Klipschorns at the same time

Great video. Many discussed that topic without showing images that explains it. As a retired audio technician, I had to explain those points to many customers, particularly about room treatment. A simple area rug and a few absorbers/diffusors can make a world of difference. Thanks for your efforts.

With the evolution of speaker design , apart from the odd few why have they not developed speakers to combat corners walls and small rooms yet !!!!, I bet 90% have to be positioned this way

Look - while these setup guidelines are all classic ones and potentially highly beneficial/night-&-day in impact, and all make sense, regarding issues like asymmetrically-shaped rooms and ones being a little over- or under-damped, while technically these conditions degrade sound a bit, the brain can also to some degree acclimate and selectively screen out irregularities a bit, based upon the listener and listening context- because listening is partly a subjective matter.

Yet another phasing issue is 'absolute phasing.' That's when the speakers are both connected backwards so the driver surfaces are being sucked inward when they should be pushing outward. A quick and dirty way to double check phasing is to use a 1.5Vdc battery connected to the speaker wire (disconnected from the amp, of course). The '+' of the battery on the positive wire and the '-' side connected to the negative wire. If the woofer cone moves outward, one has now established which way it should be connected so the RED terminal is '+' and the BLACK or dark colored terminal is '-'. Also, some speaker wire is directional. Where the beginning of the manufacturer's name is the source (amp) side. Eagle high purity copper wire is like that. Just my 2¢ 🍻

The physics may not support audiophile cable claims, but I've heard them, and though initially a skeptic, have found them helpful, though not night and day- the differences tend to be subtle- but in a high-end or very high-end system spending 5-10% of ones total audio budget on cabling and power management can yield worthwhile improvements. But for modest or "mid-level" systems, don't bother. And even in high-end systems, one should emphasize room and speakers first, then sources and electronics, etc. and only spend a bit more on cables or power management last (unless your listening environment has so much rfi/network noise etc that it's a requirement.

#1 Wall distance: partially wrong: If you apply sound correction (like Audyssey) that's corrected, too. Maybe right with conventional configurations.
#2 Toe-in: partially wrong: There are speakers that are not meant to be toed in.
#3: Speaker height: agreed
#4: Ignoring the room/symmetry: agreed. A good amount of normal interior will fix it. But you don't need ugly absorbers.
#5: Wiring out of phase: agreed
#6: Subwoofer: sounds okay. But applying sound correction (like Audyssey) is far superior.
#7: Expensive cables: exactly right. cable myths are completely debunked; the cheapest wires are sufficient, especially with digital cables
#8: Amp/speakers matching: critical with tube amplifiers; otherwise: more power = less clipping = good
#9: Turntables/vinyl: avoid these sources of distortions at any cost (Will save you a useless fortune.)
