Do you have a book in the works? If not, you should. I've read them all and you have the answer, hands down the most comprehensive, fact based and CLEARLY PROVEN ADF knowledge anywhere! :)

Finally an explanation of calorie requirements that makes sense. No wonder the scales aren't going down for me and no wonder I keep getting different answers when I calculate my daily macros. From this video I have discovered that I can go 2 days consecutively until I need to consume calories! What an eye opener!!!! Now.....can I do this? I'm going to try. Thank you for this.

Wow, great calculation! It helps me realize that I really don't need to try ADF because I would be losing my muscles. I am going to share it with my boyfriend, too. Thanks for your work.

This is the BEST explanation of how our bodies use calories! I have read a lot, watched many videos, but this is the only thing anyone needs to know to lose fat without losing lean body mass. Thank you so much for all of your hard work researching and creating videos!

Wow wealth of amazing info! I have read a lot of books recently and watched a ton of Youtubers on this topic & this is definitely the most comprehensive channel I have found. Thank you for sharing all of this info! Based on your calculations I fit into the category of being able to eat a small amount of food on my fast days. Can you link to the video you mentioned in comments where in you discuss the modified ADF plan? Looking forward to watching your videos and really getting consistent with this to see some results! 🙏

It's counterintuitive but you can be more aggressive with your calorie deficits and not lose lean mass if you're exercising, in particular, moderate strength training. Very good information.

    Thanks for this video.
I've just started this and I gotta say... It's super easy haha!

It's actually a pleasure to eat properly on eating days and then consume a lower amount on the next day. By the time I'm finished my eating day the last thing I'm thinking about is food so it's nice to have a little break anyways.

I'm not morbidly obese so I have to have calories on my fasting days to mitigate muscle loss. But seems pretty fun so far!

I'm having 2800 calories on eating days, 600 on fasting days (which is pretty easy to get a decent meal if you're smart with calories).

Hello Dr O'Neill! I discovered your videos a couple of days ago and have been consuming them! Thank you so much for all your time and work on this, it is immensely appreciated.
I Have been on a weight loss and health journey since July 2024 to control my diabetes and several other health issues I had started to have. I have averaged about 10 pounds weight loss each month by eating a whole food, low carb, high protein 1200 calorie a day diet. I also do intermittent fasting 16: 8, 17: 7, or 18: 6. I had a lot of weight to lose and so felt comfortable being aggressive, but now I am down to needing to lose 40 to 60 pounds and want to make sure I am not endangering my lean muscle mass. That is how I started looking on the Internet and found your videos. I definitely would like to try some safe but more aggressive fasting either Omad or alternate day. I have a couple of questions I was hoping you could answer. I have a body fat mass of 65.5 pounds a lean body mass of 114.5 pounds I have 36% body fat, my TDEE is 2052 and as far as I can figure in my fat calories are 1965. I do Between 30 to 45 minutes of indoor walking 6 to 7 days a week and a few days a week I will hike outside, Gardening/yard work, kayaking or bikini, nothing super intense though. I would also like to start adding some weight or strength training to my schedule. If I were to continue just eating 1200 calorie a day With the ITF am doing now, in your opinion, is that safe and how long will it be safe for me to do before affecting lean muscle mass? Also, I like the thought of omad, but I am having a hard time trying to imagine eating all my calories and protein in one meal. One thing that concerns me is knowing now that only up to about 40 grams of protein will be processed as muscle potentially, although I understand the rest will be used as fuel. Any advice you can give me would be much appreciated.
Meanwhile I'm going to watch your other videos. I cannot thank you enough for your well thought out and researched information, not to mention your vast personal experience. Best regards Annette
