  I met Linda 53 years ago. I was a landscaper in Tucson Arizona and we were landscaping her parents house. Although she lived in LA at the time she was home visiting her parents. It was very hot and we were sweating up a storm and she brought us lemonade. She was very kind to us and talked to us when we took a break. I’ll never forget it.

  Linda is one of the greatest female voices the world has known.  She could sing any genre, from Mexican music to country, blues, pop, rock, and opera.  One of a kind.  Thanks for the reaction!

  She doesn't just sing the song, she BECOMES the song. She was perfectly capable of holding that last note  twice as long!! Linda  was the best...11 Grammy's  can't be  wrong. Not a  "synth" but a  Fender Rhodes electric piano sound. Linda had the gift of a beautiful voice, but the brains to know how to use it musically...knowing when to hold back and when to let it loose. She stayed inside the song and the  story, not a "look at me, look what I can do,  a  10 minute operatic cadenza." She  was  about the song and the  story. She had  power in singing softly as well as  loud. Look at all those guys she  was the boss of in the band  lol. She was brilliant. She sang  big band music, Mexican Mariachi, rock, country, light opera and pop, duets  trios. She fought her producers all the way and made them more money than they ever  dreamed of. The Dummies. sadly at  79 she can no longer  sing or do much due to a  disease she  has.... progressive supranuclear palsy.
