  It&apos;s a shame a man that has worked his ass off to build assets has to worry about that when he falls in love with a woman. You shouldn&apos;t have to worry about someone taking half of your stuff when they didn&apos;t build it.

  Marrying someone who’s a US citizen just for legal papers is now &nbsp;restricted in the US and assumingly in other countries. <br>Its just but fair that The Philippines should practice the same thing.

  At the early stage of the relationship…. Met her for the first time, and during the course of much discussion told her my position in that if the relationship became serious I would need a prenup….she was upset, saying why don’t you trust me…. Basically after the end of the discussion she accepted that a prenup was part of the agreement. &nbsp;I get the odd catty comment about it, but the relationship continues. &nbsp;So my advice is have the discussion early on….

  It&apos;s good to say early on in one of the first few initial dates, that you would never get married without a prenup. It&apos;s fairly easy to bring it up in conversation. Do this before the inevitable &quot;I love you&quot; so she knows ahead of time. That way you&apos;ll skip (or at least minimize) any hurt feelings during the prenup discussion if it ever gets that far.

  Let me just add to the 13a topic an important detail for those cases where the marriage doesn’t end through divorce, but where the man is widowed. Because that was satisfactorily regulated by Philippine law for those who have kids, which supposedly is the vast majority of married foreigners here. When they got married the spouse was of course the sponsor of their 13a visa. Traditionally whenever the Filipina died first, one of the kids could act as the sponsor to maintain the 13a status of the remaining partner. Recently, if I understood that correctly, the law has been changed and it may be possible to act as your own sponsor and maintain your 13a. But obviously not in case of divorce. I would suggest everyone where it applies to check it out before surrendering to an inferior solution for themselves before getting it sorted out correctly. Maybe you could make a separate video on this 13 a topic soon, if you like. And, once again I would like to add, that this is priceless information that you give here, means sometimes I wish I had more than two thumbs to give you multiple thumbs up for your content. Good information about the Philippines is rare. Lot of nonsense is on YouTube. This channel makes a lot of sense!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

  For American expats, there&apos;s the Guam 7 day divorce trick. &nbsp;But even if divorce were easy, why would a retirement-age gent entangle himself in a marriage that&apos;s only advantageous to his Filipina wife and her entire family? &nbsp;It&apos;s like buying property in her name.
