They also could not find her feet. This is extremely interesting, because she was widely known for her disproportionately small feet. It was one of the first things people noticed about her. So she’s supposedly dead in the basement, missing any identifying characteristics and quite a bit too small to be Belle. You’re darn tootin’ I don’t think she died in the fire. I think it’s very likely she went back to Europe the same week as the fire.

Didn't the professor come with his wife? Are we just going to assume that she only killed her daughter that Christmas night because knowing its just a random headless female corpse, she already beheads them as an M.O., and she burned the place down so no one would probably recognize her. Do we know if the professor and his wife made it back to LA??

Jenny was def unalived by this terrible woman. She didn't even love the children she yearned for so much, thank god that one toddler was saved and what a shame Jenny's mother was too ill to protect her.

See, here's the thing. If a person managed to get away with 28killings, that person is well capable of staging a get away plan. People like this are smart and intelligent in terms of planning. Not only how to commit the crime, also thinking beyond after the crime. To stage self disappearance is easier then to cover up others. I have no doubt that it was not her in that rumbles.
