  Every time I hear how people were tortured during witch trials it amazed me that it took centuries for people to realize that confessions after tourture typically aren't reliable once someone gets to the point where they'd do anything to make it stop.

  I was so saddened/horrified by Okiku’s tragic death, and the barbaric injustice of it all, that I didn’t even notice the parallels between the story and the ring.

  The second story was so sickening. I cannot imagine nor fathom how those sickos could justify what they had done to innocent victims. There is absolutely no reason for them to have had tortured and murdered literal children and others. All of it seems like just a ploy for them to get rid of the less fortunate who lived on the streets. Idk how any of those monsters slept at night doing what they did.
