I got so many messages from you all asking what I use to track my spending. So I made my printable system available — it's the same one I talk about in my videos.

If you want it: https://thriftyhazel.gumroad.com/l/frugal-home-kit

But honestly, even a notebook and a pencil will do the job. The
habit matters more than the tool. 💛

Which tip from this video are you trying first? Tell me below —
I read every comment.

I absolutely love these hints and advice. But I will NOT - repeat: NOT! - stop buying new hardcover books. Buying books and being in bookshops - these are my happy moments. I cannot possibly do without. ❤😊

Adopt a cat. Save on therapy, counceling bills, provide heat, and entertainment, and oops there goes another mouse😂. Cats keep you sane, make you laugh and love. Adopt a cat.❤❤❤❤❤

I stopped using paper towels. I use kitchen towels and white cotton washcloths in my kitchen. For spills or dog messes, I use my old worn out towels. For cleaning, I use stained cotton t-shirts that I cut up into rectangles or squares. No more expensive paper towels to be used once and thrown in the trash.

I use rags but also cloth napkins in our house. Make my own floor cleaner. Stopped buying bottled water completely.

Holiday Decor: I live near a wooded area and I just cut fresh cedar, pine branches, or coloured Autumn branches and gather some birch logs, and pinecones to bring free, authentic seasonal decor into my home.

It's really quite simple. The more you do for yourself the cheaper things cost, and the money you save adds up. You might even learn some new skills in the process.
