  I know that I&apos;ve only scratched the surface of Diablo 2, but this first experience was really good! Most of my problems came from my mistakes, which is expected in a blind playthrough, but now I want to see what each class can do...<br>Thank you for watching!

  you passed the &quot;tutorial&quot; mode (normal). . next is &quot;practice &quot; mode (nightmare) . . then the &quot;real deal&quot; (hell) . . you did great for a blind playthrough. i enjoyed watching it. brought back memories when i first played this game 26yrs ago . . dang i feel old 🤣🤣

  About missing your attacks:<br>There is a lot of maths behind the Attack Rating.<br>Short explanation - your level compared to the enemy&apos;s level (if you are lower level you get a lower chance to hit, if you are higher ...), combines with the AR from Dexterity, the AR from Skills and the AR from items. That gives you your Sheet AR. 89% is pretty good, the max is 95%.<br><br>The thing everyone forgets is that your chance to hit is NOT tied only to your AR but to the enemy&apos;s Defense (which varies with all anemies).<br><br>Just like you have block chance, so do some enemies, so that gets into the equation too.<br><br>Then there is weapon reach - some weapons (just like irl daggers, short swords, etc.) can attack further than others. So with Zeal (and other skills that lock you in place for multiple attack checks) you cannot move after the first attack until the last but the enemies can move out of range or simply have not been in range in the first place. Example: you attack 5 times with Zeal (thinking you are about to kill the 4 enemies in front of you) but there were only 3 enemies in your range - one walked out before being attacked, the second blocked your attack and the first was lucky - so you hit noone. Bad initial player experience but very rewarding when mastered.<br><br>Finally, ATTACK SPEED. While not directly tied to AR, weapon speeds vary with weapons, skills and even classes. The faster you attack, the less time an enemy has to wander out of your melee range or hit you, the faster you can attack again, the less it hurts when you miss. D2 does not do dps for you and its tooltip explanation of weapon speeds is vague at best. So comparing weapons, especially when they are of a different class, can be another comment on its own.<br>The reason I wrote about weapon speed is because if the enemy hits you first, even if you block or it misses, there is a bigger chance for you to miss your attack. Officially - it should only happen when you take a lot of damage in one hit (called hit recovery) and it basically interupts your attack but the attack animation is often still played, so it looks like you have missed. Unoffficially - I can vouch that I miss many more attacks with my Fury Druid (Zeal-like style of attack) when surrounded by Fallen and my attack speed is about the same as theirs or slower with damage that does not oneshot them, while it does not happen when my attack speed is faster or I can reliably oneshot them. Also it happens a ton with Death Maulers (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTaocj9YWzM&amp;t=1496">24:56</a>).<br><br>Edit: I found the video because YT recommended it on my home page but I do search for similar videos in general.

  Congrats! You made that fun to watch! There is something special about D2 and the grind to find a base item, an unique item, a set item that you need. You really have to think about your choices. A relatively low level item can see you all the way to hell. I am a 75 yr old lady and I still play this game, although not that well.

  it is so cool to see someone play diablo 2 for the first time, I wish i could erase my memory and play D2 for the first time, a second time. you did great for the first time, in my first play trough I dint even realised there were aura&apos;s in the paladin tree :p
