I watched the episode with Alisa Childers, thanks for sharing. I'm sorry you guys had to go through all that. I will say, the minute you hear someone claiming to be an "Apostle" today, run for the hills. That's your first clue things in that congregation aren't right.

Peter was an apostle he was corrected by Paul on some of his behavior. Being an apostle is not equivalent to being always correct or knowing what to do.<br><br>In fact the humbleness of Peter was probably his greatest indicator of fruit especially since he seemed to not come by it naturally he had to grow in it.

I can't believe how much JC and his wife's experience was like mine in the church. The assaults on the mind are insane, and it does result in depression, anxiety, and physical pain.

I was married to a man who was from an NAR church. He was narcissistic through and through and was extremely abusive mentally, physically, sexually and spiritually. What you are describing here, is so similar to my experience of marriage for 42 years. I finally ended up with cancer from all the emotional abuse. I finally left, but he is still trying to control and run my life. He claims to be such a Christian; it's scary😢. Thanks so much for speaking out. I believe that the NAR is narcissistic to the core.

Comparing nar to blm is a great way to explain it to those who might not understand it.<br>When my husband and I first got saved, we were NAR /WOF. Praise be to God for not letting us go too far down that path and opening our eyes to the deception.<br>Praying for those still deceived and living under these false doctrines.

I’m not in a NAR church. Not even a charismatic church. but this is so scary similar to what my church is going through right now. We centered our worship around a personality-not Christ. And the pastor had no accountability, no elders, nothing. He just had complete and total control of the church, including the property (it was all in his name). No one could do anything.

Our previous church is a "John MacArthur" type church (TMS graduates). This has been happening in that church for years and still is. This is definitely not only a charismatic problem.
