They Spray Foamed the Attic & Encapsulated the Crawlspace... Now It's Too Humid

Has to be zero openings into the envelope now. They need to do a blower door test because sealing an existing building envelope isn&apos;t easy especially on old homes!!! &nbsp;This is only method to be sure what you got!<br><br>Standard 62.1‑2019 / 2022 – Maximum Indoor Dew Point: 60°F<br>ASHRAE added Section 5.10 / 5.12 requiring that mechanically cooled buildings (including residential buildings using mechanical cooling) must have humidity controls that keep indoor dew point ≤ 60°F (15°C) whenever outdoor dew point is above 60°F. <br><br>Intent: Reduce risk of microbial growth, condensation, and moisture absorption in building materials.<br><br>Santa-Fe Ultra Series whole house dehumidifiers, fix the uphill drain &amp; pump along with piped combustion air to the furnaces there could be a few other things but hope their equipment isn&apos;t oversized now!<br><br>I really feel for these home owners they try to really make sure their problem is fixed but created other problems now.   This is exactly why a second opinion can make such a difference. It&apos;s easy to replace parts, but finding the actual cause takes experience.

  This is a huge problem in the construction industry. &nbsp;Different contractors, not educated on their own job. &nbsp;That insulation contractor sold her a product whether or not he knew it would be a detriment to the house is a different story.<br>I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but look how dangerous that was for the homeowner

  I saw the video you did on the house that had all of the debris in the furnace. I wasn&apos;t able too comment on it, so I thought I would on this one.   Those poor people. The insulation company should have informed them what they needed, that’s a failure on their part. Thank the good lord they have you there to correct the problem. Great content!

  One thing I’ve learned by watching your channel is that you really need to know a lot of different stuff about a house and how it all relates to HVAC and this video is proof of that. It’s more than just the technical aspect of repairing or performing maintenance on a unit. You have to know the size of the house. Is it the right tonnage? &nbsp;Like in this video, trying to figure out Why is it so humid? &nbsp;You did another video about humidity and found out the dehumidifier was reading an error code when the homeowner thought it said 64. You have to know how all of it interacts with each other in order to solve the mystery of why something isn’t working. You’re very thorough. Thinking you have some sort of engineering degree rather than just trade school. I love your videos.
