  i feel like nobody actually know 'exactly' what is optimal but it's nice to hear the other side here.  i have a vented crawlspace and clearly i'd like to not spend 10s of thousands to encapsulate it if not totally necessary.

  First of all....Terrific video...Love your honesty and advice. Excellent.<br><br>Now here&apos;s my situation. We live on long island ny, with some pretty humid summers.<br>I have a crawlspace that is 25&apos; x15&apos; and its 24 inches high.<br>2 window entries in my basement.<br>The floor of the crawl is concrete.<br>The walls are cinder block...3 rows<br>the crawl has 4 vents.<br>The crawl has a support wall running the length of it due to the floor bounce in the past.<br>Its a 2x6 support wall extending the whole 25 feet.<br>I also have pretty new fiberglass insulation R30 batts in the crawl ceiling.<br><br>My new woodfloors above the crawl have started to cup.<br>I had my wood floor installed back over and he said its due to the high humidity we have been having.<br>So installed a dehumidifier in that room so far.<br>But I know i have to do something with this crawlspace also.<br><br>The issues are......<br>Full encapsulation is not going to be affordable for us in our budget.<br>I just spent money on all that new fiberglass insulation to be installed 2 years ago.<br>I dont want to remove all that new insualtion I just spent a fortune on.<br>Is there a middle ground to what I can do?<br>What other choice or options do I have to lower that humidity down and hopefully these wood floors will be better...?<br>Thank you

  If I have a vented crawl space (only part of my house has a crawl space because it was an extension) and in the winter the room above the crawl space gets cold. I won’t to install rockwool insulation but we get a lot of humidity in the summer. Do you think adding rockwool insulation will lead to mold on the floor joist area in the crawl space ?

  Crazy how many people say it&apos;s required.<br><br>Equally crazy how many people say it&apos;s unnecessary.<br><br>I&apos;ve heard so many differing &quot;OPINIONS&quot; about this subject I feel like none of what I am hearing is credible or factual. &nbsp;The only evidence of fact I have been offered was seeing what no encapsulation did to my friends house, but no evidence to how it&apos;s unnecessary. &nbsp;Do you see my problem here?<br><br>I have one guy telling me &quot;If you have a poured and formed crawlspace at construction you don&apos;t need encapsulation&quot;, then another guy shouting &quot;AT ALL TIMES YOU MUST ENCAPSULATE!!!!!&quot; Then another YouTube saying &quot;Don&apos;t encapsulate; but here&apos;s why it&apos;s good practice&quot; (Fuckin&apos;.....WHAT?!?) and now yours of which I have found so much frustration in processing because of all of the conflicting information I am finding and it only gets worse the more I look. &nbsp;Insanity.<br><br>I&apos;m building a cabin home, my first and my only one so I just wanted it done right which seems like a big ask.
