  I am 73 almost 74, my Grandmother taught me a lot, I do not buy boxes, I cook from food I know and what goes in it. guess I didn&apos;t realize I was lucky to have been taught.

  Pancake pancakes she used to whip those pancakes up so fast our head would spin. Grandma said if you have flour, eggs, milk, and butter with salt and pepper. You can make anything. Thank you for these reminders.❤

  I&apos;m so glad you are bringing the old ways back to this world.. I&apos;m teaching my granddaughter how to make bread and everything I&apos;m learning about. Every time she comes to visit she wants to bake from scratch.

  My father would slice a radish, salt and pepper, and put it on buttered white bread. <br><br>At least one of the Fridays in the month, we would have macaroni and cheese with canned tomato soup. It’s still my “go to” comfort food. <br><br>Every Saturday, he would fry chopped onions, canned corn and leftover macaroni and cheese from last night, held together with a few eggs scrambled into the mix. Again, comfort food from the depression years.

  My parents grew up through WW1, the depression and WW2. &nbsp;We canned vegetables and jelly in the fall when I was a child. &nbsp;You forgot to mention the fruit preserves and jelly’s. &nbsp;<br>As bland as these sound, folks will be surprised at how filling and satisfying these recipes are.<br>Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
