I built one very similar a few years ago, but my old back didn't love lifting up the sled and 2" rough cut white oak over and over and over and over. I got it done, but that was the last time for my 67 year old back. My days of heavy lifting over and over and over and over again are over. I'll leave it to you youngsters and just admire my former grit and determination. 😅

This is a nice design! You could also do a wedge knob that you can adjust with turning it just a little bit instead of having to turn it 5 or 6 times.

For those who might have Shopnotes magazines, the reference source is volume 23, issue 137, pages 20 - 23. It's too bad it was discontinued. I loved that publication.
