You react like so many American viewers ; first you are amazed at the hits, then you worry about the injuries and finally decide that it’s too rough for you. Rugby is played by millions of people all across the world, it is a huge sport both on a club level and more importantly, on an international level. Yes, there are injuries but nowhere the number Americans consider will happen. You might like to know that NFL derived directly from rugby, and was changed by you as considered too dangerous. However, there is an American league and USA have a national team. Both sexes play rugby and play to the same rules. Finally, rugby does not stop every time a player is tackled, or the ball touches the ground, it is a continuous flowing game. Enjoyed your reaction.

One important thing to remember is that rugby isnt stop/start like NFL, its 2x40min of almost non stop play. These big guys aren't even getting a break,

They have played the game long enough that they know where and how to position themselves in a tackle. Not as many injuries as you would think

Welcome to Rugby. No breaks, stopping, or F's given. Injuries aren't as bad as you think. Either conditioning, and rules protect you usually. My most common injury was disclocated fingers.

Head injuries are something they are trying to clamp down on, but i played before those rules came in. I think i only got concussion once, and it was me tackling on the wrong side

This sport wasn't paid until 90's. (Don't quote me)

And play doesn't stop after the hit. You still need to place the ball properly for your team.

The Greatest Rugby Player Of All Time was Jonah Lomu. He turned down a contract for $10m with the Denver Broncos in 2003, reportedly because he loved the game of Rugby. Rugby players don't get paid anything like that, and aren't traded like animals as they are in the NFL.

This is RUGBY - just like the player in my profile who is the Springbok Captain one of the most feared teams on earth and current world champions. I've looked after these guys when touring Australia - BIG BOK fan also - very humble blokes.

While you obviously get injuries in rugby generally it’s a lot less then you would expect; the lack of padding means you are coached and learn good tackle technique and how to properly brace for impact where as pads can give a sense of invincibility at times.
Also important to know there are no “downs” in rugby; play continues after each tackle without stoppages and In theory your team could get tackled 100 times in a row without surrendering possession

Lol! Just stumbled accross your channel. I'm a South African and I grew up playing rugby amongst other contact sports. In school I broke my nose, two fingers and my leg. It is that physical from early on.
