12:50 I already knew that thanks to videos analyzing Watchmen and Peacemaker, but I still like this idea of adding a piece of information halfway through the video; it's quite interesting.

While I really like both of these movies the one thing I kinda don't like it the 3D animation. It works but I kinda want a fully 2D animated watchmen movie and they even used 2D animation for some of the translations and flashbacks

What I like about Watchmen is the author right up haiting most of the interpretations people have of his work.
I understand his point of view. I don't think the characters are Gods like how most comics characters would be percived in earlier ages. With their powers, their many stories and many many interpretations.
They are states. What each character does is have a state like response to the situation they find themslevs in.
Which might be another explanation why the author even hates Roschach. The least bad of the heros.
Because he is also a possible state response to an emergency: just abolish yourself , throw everything down there and hope your subjects stop the other states you helped in the past. The state helps creates the divison of labour and with it all the other consequences: technology , different soical organisations , new ideologies. When the state system becomes unstable the state decides to kill itself and thus defend an ideal rather than stay around and materially help the people.
I think it also works as a critique of anarchism. An ideology in many forms , but all suffering from being idealist. Meaning, in this context, putting what you think above what you do. It matters most what ideas people have in their heads instead of how the things they do to get their living necessities and commodities actually shape those ideas.
In anarchism you can have a never ending "authoritarian" regime , not because people are actually oppressed or because there exists a balance of human dignity and necessity but because some humans think they are better than others.
In anarchist theory as long as they think there is somebody lower than them, even if these lessers do not actually exist, authority can be perserved and be endless.
Which I consider to be catergorically false for the current state of humanity.
