  So nice to hear a real human voice. &nbsp; &nbsp;Better yet, the photos are correct. &nbsp; &nbsp;Not only spitfires but the right spits. &nbsp; Seeing early non bulged canopies for eg. &nbsp; &nbsp; Period correct.<br><br>So much slop out there, this is not that, this is quality.<br><br>Spit did have a pretty amazing wing. &nbsp; &nbsp; As our host said. &nbsp; &nbsp; Designed by a Canadian &nbsp;BTW. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Decent at high speed but worked all the way down the speed range, and allowed in particular low induced drag against lift and so sustained turn was really the key, superb.

  Great Video! USA Commercial Instrument Pilot for over 50 years. Several Months ago (Sept 2025) while on vacation to London, my beautiful wife arranged for me to fly Mark 9 Spitfire MJ627 (2-seat conversion) from Biggin Hill to the English Channel and White Cliffs of Dover. It was for my 78th Birthday. She was in a chase plane, and we flew formation over the White Cliffs where she took some fantastic pictures of me flying the Spitfire. Got lots of stick time including aerobatics. I have worked for 30+ years in Flight Simulation and have flown many different actual aircraft and many aircraft flight simulators, but this was the high point of my flying experiences. BTW this same aircraft had engine failure and made a successful belly landing 4 months before my flight. It was the 3rd belly landing since it was built in 1943. One tough airplane.

  I just wanted to say thanks for doing what you do. In a sea of surface level content, your presentations are truly a gem. It feels kinda silly now but I found your channel in a very jaded period of my life, your work was one of the things that actually challenged me, and really inspired me to dive into the technical side of aviation in a way i hadn’t experienced for a very long time.<br><br>Now I’m studying to get my A&amp;P, and I only want to learn more!
