  Imagine being the lighthouse keeper who was injured before the disappearances took place and couldn&apos;t work in the lighthouse at the time of the events ... that must have been a strange feeling to know that the only reason you were alive and didn&apos;t disappear alongside your colleagues was a freaky accident beforehand 😱

  It seems logical that the two men went out to investigate something and got into trouble of an urgent nature occasioning the third to rush out without his coat to help, the urgency of the situation overriding protocol and even concern for his own well being. All I can think is that one of the men sustained a severe injury or fell ill and possibly slipped over the edge to a dangerous perch and the other two tried to get him up to safety but fell themselves in the process. Or something like that.

  oh man, this mystery is one of my favorites. the fact that Stephanie is covering means that I will hear facts about it that I didn&apos;t know existed. she&apos;s a beast with finding out every single detail! SO EXCITED TO WATCH!

  Maybe the two guys were out there trying to secure things and got in trouble. &nbsp;McCarther stayed inside as he should. &nbsp;By the time the storm was over, the two guys hadn&apos;t come back. &nbsp;Because the storm was done, he didn&apos;t put on his bad weather gear as he went to investigate. <br>Arriving at the site, he saw a problem. &nbsp; One of the men in a precarious space, &nbsp;maybe, still barely alive or possibly already dead. &nbsp;Or equipment in a bad way. &nbsp;He started climbing out to help or fix things, but then fell and died.<br>Then the second storm cleared away all evidence (light keeper&apos;s body or equipment, &nbsp;or whatever).

  I think the most likely explanation is McArthur running outside in some sort of mad state, the others going after him to try and bring him back, and in his mad state he fought against them. Between the bad weather and the struggle, they lost their footing and fell into the sea and perished. Most of that island is slope, and I can easily imagine that once they slipped on the wet grass and started down the slope, it would be impossible to stop themselves. I agree the damage to the west landing probably happened later.

  Mccarther ran out after the wave hit to see what happened to the others and probably got caught by another wave.
