First of all, this was never said by the jury, therefore their verdict was correct just by luck? Second many people are already comforable with the odds one in a million against the boy and still would let the boy go? What does this tell us about those viewers who already believe in No8&apos;s one in a million theory? Third, you are telling us, that someone with a motive who really wants to kill the dad goes there without a murder weapon just hoping that someone would have lost his dangerous weapon nearby, how handy. And fourth, are you really telling us that if someone loses his knife somewhere in the slums it is just a matter of a few hours that someone nearby gets stabbed? Actually you are making a wonderful point for the aggressive old prejudice guy, maybe he was the only one who was 100% right all the time, funny isn&apos;t it?

  Here&apos;s the thing about Lee J. Cobb&apos;s character (the one with the son): his rage is so overwhelming, it&apos;s easy to dismiss him simply as a loudmouth bully. But if you watch carefully, Cobb also shows insecurity, love, humor, warmth, shame, intelligence, fear... It&apos;s all there, just measured out very subtly and precisely. A one-man acting masterclass.

  I had my first date without realizing it was a first date with my now fiance asking her if she ever have seen this movie. I told her beforehand, &quot;You will get worked up and frustrated. But also it&apos;s a black and white movie that holds up.&quot; She was like, &quot;Yeah, sure I&apos;ll watch it.&quot; Not even 20 minutes in she is practically screaming at the screen as I am laughing at her reaction to it. I credit this movie for solidifying me and her.

  One of the best films of all time. Sidney Lumet used several techniques to increase the feeling of claustrophobia increasing throughout the film. Camera angles getting lower and lower, slowly increasing the use of close ups, etc. These were some of the best actors of their time and many are now legends in film.

  I always think the interesting aspect of this is that we didn&apos;t see the crime; we don&apos;t <i>know</i> what happened. &nbsp;We didn&apos;t even see the <i>trial</i> so we don&apos;t actually <i>know</i> what evidence or arguments were given there. &nbsp;All we see is <i>what each juror took away from it,</i> which... &nbsp; is kinda the point.

  I used to show this to my 12th grade government classes when I was a young teacher. The kids all thought I lost my mind but 10min into the movie you could hear a pin drop &amp; nobody fell asleep haha <br><br>This movie is required viewing<br>No music. Just dialogue <br>Acting

  One of (if not THE) greatest courtroom film of all time as well as a classic example of a &quot;bottle&quot; movie. (Takes place in one location.) Superb writing, acting, directing.

  This movie came out in the late 50s when the civil rights movement was getting into hyperdrive. 14 year old Emmit Till, a black boy visiting from Chicago, had been lynched by 2 white men for whistling at a white woman in Mississippi in 1955. The all White jury found the men not guilty. Racial prejudice was rapidly &nbsp;becoming a major issue in the US.<br>Another issue of the late 50s was the fairness of the judicial system. The defendant obviously had a poor lawyer and if it had not been for Henry Fonda&apos;s character the mob like mentality of the other jurors would have prevailed. The movie is such a classic that it in The National Film Registry by the Library of Congress. Five years after 12 ANGRY MEN came out another classic on some of the same themes as 12 ANGRY MEN came out. TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD was based on a book by the same name. O do hope someone reacts to that classic.

  A masterclass in filmmaking and civics. One room, hot day, tempers flared. Life is in the balance. Great script and direction and some of the best actors in movies. Thanks.
