  Mickey was in the right with his beef with Rocky. WE saw how out of shape and non-committed he was in the first fight, and then we saw how he looked at the end when he put his mind and heart into it. "Instead, you became a leg-breaker" explains a lot.

  Fun fact-in real life, the best boxer amongst the cast was, by far, Burt Young, the guy playing Paulie, Adrian's brother!

  The movies budget was 1.1 million dollars and the box office was 225 million dollars. Adjusted for inflation, the box office would be 1.2 billion dollars today. That's how popular this movie was back in 1976.

  True story - When Carl Weathers first auditioned for the role of Apollo Creed he didn't know who Sylvester Stallone was, he thought Stallone was a lowly set worker and not the star of the movie. Carl said: "I can give a much better reading if you get a real actor for me to audition against." Stallone liked the combination of arrogance and back-handed humor, and thought it was perfect for Heavyweight Champion Apollo Creed.

  The most important thing is knowing when he was hitting sides of beef, is beef ribs are three times as strong and dense as human ribs. Now you know what Apollo Creed went through.

  Bill Conti's score makes the film twice as good. If you ever boxed or training for anything that lonely run where he fails to get up the steps is so relatable.

  Rocky is a truly beautiful movie that not only holds up, but has become even better over time.  It’s like watching real life, and Bill Conti’s music is so perfect.  A top American classic and one of the all time best poster tag lines… “His whole life was a million to one shot.” 👍

  I became aware of Rocky when I was in high school and ever since they’ve been my favorite Stallone films. I’ve lost count how many times I’ve played the Rocky soundtrack in the gym.

  This movie is based on a real fight that Sly heard about and I have to give the guy credit. He knew it was a great story and would make an awesome movie! Sly was a visionary. Apollo creed is Muhammad Ali, and rocky is Chuck Wepner, (a club fighter in new Jersey).

  The truth is, this is every mans life. Sad and lonely.  Rocky...the underdog who overcomes the odds and makes it is every man's dream. Thats why men love this movie.
