  My dad was in the Marines when they were filming this. They put out an extras call for all the military in the area (we lived in California). He met Bill Pullman, Will Smith, and Tyra Banks (her and Smith were dating at the time). He was on set to the President&apos;s speech before the final fight and the celebration at the end.

  The dolphin ring also shows her that this wasn&apos;t a last minute idea for him. He isn&apos;t just marrying her because of what&apos;s currently happening. Also, since I didn&apos;t see anyone else mention it, there was a deleted scene which explained that Earth&apos;s computer technology was based off what they learned studying the captured ship. That&apos;s why they were able to link to the alien computer and the virus worked.

  Saw this in a packed theater, the weekend it opened. When the President said he was going to lead the final battle personally, I turned to the complete stranger sitting next to me, and said, “If he survives, he’s a shoo-in for reelection.”

  Watched this in the theater on July 4, 1996. the room went crazy when the dog made the jump, the President&apos;s speech and lots of applause when the credits rolled, I&apos;ll never forget it!

  Everyone talks about how he knocked it out that whole time with a punch but they forget how he stopped every so often to kick the shit out of it and it did just crash the hell out of it’s ship. And 3 of the 4 that crashed on earth died from a crash

  This movie took forever to be released on video because people just kept going to see it in theaters. As a little kid, this was something my step-dad and I bonded over, and we saw it in theater at least 5 times.
