That air intake sticking out of the hood does not shoot flames out.It's part of the supercharger.

the car with the 51 on it is a heavily modified 1951 mercury owned by an Austrian ... i did a google image search of it... i had never seen it before

There's nothing quite like the throaty chug of a good American V-8 engine. It sounds mean and in most of these cars, they will GO. Happy to see another country loving our car designs!
