I think it's interesting that real Nikki is represented as silence. because in Bears mind, she's not a real human. she's a fantasy. so whenever the real human doesn't match that fantasy, he doesn't even see her. he tunes her out

I literally leaned over to my friend and whispered "this score is so sick, it's like resident evil and silent hill."

I think the most heartbreaking part of the soundtrack is “The Letter.” Just the low hymns and synths, it almost sounds like the soundtrack itself is mourning the tragic irony of Sarah getting into art school, and how Bear robbed her of her future as well as Nikki’s.

"Into Darkness" actually plays again during the end credits. It's immediately after they play "Forever" by The Little Dippers, and you hear real Nikki have her mental breakdown in the background. Playing "Into Darkness" afterwards gives everything a sense of melancholy and emptiness at the very end of the movie. It shows Nikki's life can never be the same after everything that's happened throughout the film.

something i found interesting was how mirrored the first kiss scene with nicky was with the near-first kiss scene with sarah. they both used a song by current joys, and both scenes represent the start of something * seemingly good. i think it could have just as easily been sarah that bear took advantage of.
