I have always had an inner affinity with Scotland. I visited a couple of times when I was younger. Just under 4 years ago, I moved from England to the West Coast of Scotland, around 26 miles from Glasgow. I still haven't got used to the landscape as it takes my breath away every day.

Another couple of Scottish facts, Scotland was originally not attached to England at all but was part of the same land mass that makes the Appalachian trail. Glasgow is also home to fossilised trees that were nearly 5 times as old to a T-Rex as a T-Rex is to us, ( T-Rex 68million years ago, the trees were 320million years ago). The trees are so old that their roots only split into two, they dont branch off as modern tree roots do. You can see the trees, called Forest Grove, one Sunday every month when volunteers open up the building that encloses them. Also, when those trees were growing, Scotland was near the equator.

As a kid in care who yearly camped at loch mora...there was stories of Nessie.... From another loch... It felt genuine...every summer cld feel it.

So proud to be Scottish, I just found a while ago out that the Scottish highlands were once part of the Appalachian mountains we didn't learn that at School
