  WOW -- I was not expecting this video to blow up anywhere even close to this! Doing my best to respond to comments as fast as I can. I work on The American Highlander when and as I can (I still have a day job), so there will be a delay in responding to everyone, but I'll do the best I can. It matters to me that you're taking the time out of your day to watch my channel and respond. Really, truly and genuinely appreciate all the love and positive feedback. This is a passion project because I don't see too many channels based in the Far North of Scotland, and I think a lot of people fantasize about one day living in Scotland, especially the Highlands. Episode #2 is done and scheduled for release next week, and I'm working on episode #3 right now. My deepest gratitude for your time and patronage.   This is exactly the type of person we want to emigrate to the UK, not because he is white and American, but because of his undoubted love and respect  towards the country that  he has chosen to spend the rest of his life in.  Welcome to Scotland

  Completely agree.  If you emigrate to a country you should integrate into the local culture. You shouldn't expect them to change for you.

  My husband and I just returned from a 10-day vacation in Scotland. I would immigrate to this beautiful and friendly country in a heartbeat. The Highlands captured my soul in a way no place ever has!

  I'm and Englishman who lived near Inverness for five years and I clicked out of curiosity wanting to hate it.....and I didn't!  I like your honesty and humility and how I wish every person coming to our country thought like you.  I welcome you to our Islands.

  Congratulations young man!  I'm an 84 year old Scottish born and raised lady that came to America in 1962. I so envy you being up there. I tried to live back there in 1997. I gave it a year but I'd no money and no longer felt I belonged there. I remember standing in Tescos with a package of  hamburger/mince and I didn't know how much was in there nor did I know the value. Do I turn these new pounds to dollars, to the old pound!  And no more miles......You are lucky to be able to support yourself and pay those horrendous taxes, rates etc. I felt like a foreigner in my own country and after a year I came back to the US, bought a home on the coast and let the passports expire. Enjoy, love it and good luck in all you do young man and may your marriage last forever!!

  I am a retired school teacher in East Texas. I was in the US Navy and met a remarkable young man from Scotland in the Royal Navy. We wrote letters for two years and got to know each other. Our phone bill was huge! This was long before cell phones . We married and he chose to live in the USA. We had visited each other‘s homes and I fell in love with Scotland and the people. My husband has taken me all over the Scotland east to west and north to south. I love the history and I’m constantly reading to learn more. I’ve lost count of the castles I’ve walked through. I look forward to learning more about northwest Scotland.

  Welcome to Scotland<br>My advice to you is get your winter supplies in now and get winter ready, as a priority Food and Fuel. &nbsp;If you think when you have stocked up that you have enough then add an additional 50% to your stockpile and keep a well stocked pantry. (there are many sites on YouTube that you can get lists of essentials that you should have in your stockpile).<br>If things turn to custard, its not that you may not be able to get to the supermarkets, its that the supermarkets may not be able to receive supplies because of an a weather event. &nbsp;Nothing worse that being hungry or at worse no toilet paper.<br>Invest in a generator and a large freezer, you can thank your lucky stars that you did later.<br>Blessings to you and your wife on this next phase of your life and welcome to Scotland😊
