I learned many years ago never ever even joke with your doctors no matter how well you know them. I dont drink alcohol but one day after I tripped on my front porch and fractured my ankle, I make a joke about maybe the fumes from my wifes drink got to me. 2 years later I was in a workers comp case and the insurance companies lawyer use that one joke to try to make it appear I was an alcoholic and possibly drunk on the job. That didnt work for them but I learned to keep any conversation with doctors curt and specific to the medical condition you are seeing them for. No idle chit chat or joking. Especially now with office visits recorded, transcribed and evaluvated by Ai.

This is so disgusting to me!! Why do we allow this as a society, I grew up having to hide my diaries from my own parents. Now employer's too? Bullshit and absolutely unacceptable.

I think digging your personal life is disgusting when what is at stake is your professional circumstances. Using your journal it's outrageous.

That's even more personal than a spouse. If a spouse doesn't have to testify, how can a diary be taken? That's WRONG.

What if a person writes, "the people and events described herein are completely fictional and any similarity is merely a coincidence."? Will that work? 🤣

No, employers shouldn't dig into your personal life. Stick to the facts that are only related to employment/employee issues.

I’m sorry, I BURNED THEM when I finished. It’s for my personal use. They are ashes by now 🔥📚🤔

I've been keeping a journal of the harassment I am receiving in a hostile work environment. I filed a complaint and the company's lawyer is asking me for my journal and notes on the harassment. ABSOLUTELY NOT! They just want my notes to make it easier for them to cover their tracks. They get my journal if we end up in court. PERIOD!

I don’t write in a journal but if a lawyer started asking me about whether or not I had one I would want to know why it’s relevant to our conversation.

USA is a wild land. Glad I don’t live there, our country still have some decency left.

So what I gathered from this is to answer a flat out NO to the original question in the beginning.
