That yellow-green corrosion product is probably a reaction from cadmium plating under previously-damp storage conditions; do not breathe it in, it's toxic, and your throat and sinuses will feel like you've gargled with battery acid. You can brush it off outside with the aid of an air compressor and a paintbrush or toothbrush; wear a mask. That corrosion will be hidden underneath any riveted mechanical ground points such as the terminal strip mounting lugs or the frames of the tube sockets, and so at the very least you should clean the metal thoroughly and solder those riveted ground points.

Hi ross, what schematic did you use? My ga5 has a 6512 datecode on the mains, its has to be pretty close in s/n! Yours is the first ive seen with the same chassis configuration, even brads early 65 is wired differently!
