  Years after I heard John Entwistle&apos;s bass sound that persuaded me to go with wire wound strings, I discovered that we were born on the same day. He in London, me in Edinburgh. Unfortunately for me, he got all the talent that day! &nbsp;Even though I never achieved anything like the success that he did, I still feel privileged to have played in bands around the UK and in Germany in the amazing &apos;60s.<br><br>There were four of us in the full-time band I was in. Other than alcohol, none of us indulged in drugs. Maybe that&apos;s why we never got anywhere! 😄

  When Pete says about John being up front with his bass playing. I&apos;ve always felt that each member of The Who did exactly that. The genius of it being, none of them did it in a way to upstage the others. Even Keith knew when to hold back for the sake of the song and let the other members have their &quot;say&quot;. Best rock band ever!!

  Over the years, I&apos;ve met, and even befriended, a few of my most revered pop music heroes. Of the increasingly few remaining, Pete is in the top 5 of people I&apos;d love to spend an hour fawning over, and just. listening. to. Thanks for this! I&apos;m, of course, in full agreement with him on all counts.

  My 1st Rock concert was The Who, &apos;76; lasers &amp; Mad Man Moon...his 3rd last official concert, ever!<br>Fortunate enough to have seen all 4 of his choices, live, in concert.
