  The only way to draw people back to Vegas is get rid of resort fees, parking fees when you are staying at the hotel and lower food prices. It&apos;s cheaper to gamble at local casinos.

  Two things need to happen really quick to get people to focus on Vegas as both a vacation destination and even a possible place to call home.<br>1. Announce a major project to build a dam/reservoir solely for the use of the city and its residents and not shared with other municipalities. <br>2. 100% removal of all fees from all hotels in the Vegas area. No resort fees. No parking fees. No special fees of any kind. Just charge the same rates they&apos;d charge at any other of these types of destinations and the crowds will return like gangbusters.

  That Planet Mega Projects image of Las Vegas is AI deceiving. It makes it look like an entirely new futuristic Strip is about to appear overnight. NOT! <br> <br>There ARE some massive projects coming: <br> <br>• Hard Rock Las Vegas + Guitar Hotel <br>• A’s $2B ballpark <br>• Bally’s redevelopment of the Tropicana site <br>• Brightline West high-speed rail <br>• Durango expansion <br>• Hylo Park <br>• Las Vegas Museum of Art <br>• Several proposed NBA arena/entertainment developments <br> <br>But here’s the bigger question: &quot;who is paying for all of this?&quot; <br> <br>Vegas is already becoming ridiculously expensive. Hotels, restaurants, shows, parking and resort fees keep climbing. At some point, “If you build it, they will come” stops being a business strategy. <br> <br>The A’s will be especially interesting to watch. The Raiders arrived with an enormous, devoted national fanbase and one of the most recognizable brands in American sports. The A’s are coming off years of losing, don&apos;t have anything resembling Raider Nation nationally, and even something as superficial as team colors and merchandise matters when you&apos;re trying to turn tourists into casual fans. <br> <br>Vegas can build spectacular things. That doesn&apos;t guarantee people will fill them!

  I live a two and a half hour drive from Vegas. Haven’t been there in 15 years, and that was for a seminar.

  I go to Las Vegas for the Mecum Motorcycle Auction at the South Point Casino.<br>That way, I avoid 90% of the traffic and fees that plague the rest of the Strip.

  Brightline has already postponed the train due to funding &amp; Ballys pulled out of the trop site.. also due to funding. 💯

  While putting in the high speed rail from LA to Las Vegas run a huge pipe line capable of matching the Colorado rivers capacity. Put a De-salination plant in Long Beach, LA or a convenient beach front location. Pull the ocean water, desalinate it and ship that water all of the way to Lake Mead. Keep the water levels as high as in 1982. That will provide water for all seven major cities that rely on the reservoir. It will help with the fishing, camping and water sports recreation. At one time The Lake Mead National Recreational Area was the most visited Recreational site in the US. It’s the only way that Las Vegas can sustain its incredible growth.
