  I lived on Rodeo when people rode horses to town and a horse path was also on Sunset Blvd. A family friend lived on the last cattle ranch in Beverly Hills.  Wealth does not create a wholesome community if wealth becomes its goal.

  I worked in Beverly Hills for 15 years and yes it has definitely changed quite a bit. My father worked in the Beverly Hills Hotel for 30 years every year for Xmas the families were invited to dine close to the Polo lounge in one of the large rooms to hold the many people who wouldn't miss this yearly event. The food was so delicious and the entertainment was top notch....those were the days....long gone now.

  You should do an in-depth study, and video about what happened to Lexington, Missouri. From a block with 42 bars, wh*re houses galore, a military college, home of the first woman's college, in Missouri. A small town, I thought was a crowded, busy city, when I was small, to what it is now. A shadow of it's former self. I think it would make a fascinating video.

  Corrections: Tiffany was located in the northeast corner of the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on Wilshire Blvd until it moved to the new 2 Rodeo site in 1990. The former Brooks Brothers store on Rodeo at South Santa Monica Blvd remains vacant. The LVMH plan to build a hotel on that site was voted down by the residents of Beverly Hills.  The picture purporting to show West Hollywood is not West Hollywood. But an image showing a building supposedly in Beverly Hills is actually in West Hollywood (northeast corner of Santa Monica Blvd and Doheny Drive).  Also, was it really necessary to repeat info about the Beverly Hills Hotel site?  And no mention of Hernando Courtright's association with the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.  All an absence of due diligence.

  My older brother Ron and his wife Lydia worked for Buddy Rogers who was Mary Pickford's second husband at the PicFair estate. My brother had a number of interesting stories from that experience, with Sammy Davis Jr living on one side and Fred Astaire on the other side. I got to meet Buddy and he was a super nice guy and Ron said he was a great guy to work for. The place has long been since torn down by Jerry Buss the owner of the LA Lakers. He built a new house on the property.

  I live in Beverly Hills and there’s still no where else I’d rather live. Unfortunately every city in America has become outrageously expensive overgrown and has lost its charm.  Too much money coming in from other countries buying up properties in America started this in the late 70s.

  Nice video encapsulizing the founding of Beverly Hills. I enjoyed watching this video as I lived in the Bev Hills & West Hollywood area for 25 yrs

  My family owned an apartment building on N. Burton Way until oil was discovered underneath it. We received royalties for decades, and today there’s an expensive condo complex where it once stood. Growing up there in the ’60s and ’70s was wonderful. We even had monthly family BBQs at our relatives’ beautiful home near Sunset. Great memories!
