Grief is a huuuuuge limerence trigger for many people. It offers an escape from a horrible pain and the hopeful promise of a new wonderful person entering your life and fixing it all and taking away all the pain. The Knight in shining armor, here to rescue you from all your darkness

People should talk more about limerence/toxic relationships in fiction. I loved Friends and that toxic Ross/Rachel story when I was a teenager ☹ Ross was abusive, suffocating and jealous after Rachel found a job that she liked. She needed a break and a few hours later he sleeps with somebody else, blames Rachel and justifies it by "we were on a break". Then months later he lovebombs another woman, marries her, and treats her badly too. And poor Rachel can't let go of Ross (how does he move on so fast when he said he loves me?!)<br>All these "love stories" are supposed to be romantic but they are harmful. I was alone a lot when I was a kid and watched these shows, soap operas. Those really weren't good for me. It is so messed up especially when you don't have healthy role models.

I have struggled with Limerence my whole life. Thankfully I have been able to keep it under control and basically gone by expanding my life. Showing up for my friends, doing well at my job and getting into a relationship with a great and honest man. Wishing all the people watching this video the best❤

Limerence is like I imagine heroin to be. The feeling is magical. It has hit me at different points in my life. It nearly hurt my marriage. I avoid rom-coms and I read nonfiction. But your videos help.

I've binge watched your material - and you are single handedly helping me heal in a way that dozens of therapists, multiple forms of types of therapy, medicine, etc. couldn't do. I don't know how to thank you enough. I feel like you have understood my heart and trauma in a way that nobody ever has and I'm so grateful.

I never knew there was a word for this! I have been "infatuated" with this guy for almost 20 years. He's the only one I've been with for 9 years. He constantly reminds me we've never been together. However, he comes around, (even after years) and I just melt. I know there's no chance. I don't even want anything but there is just something about him that I cant shake. My mother was unalived when I was 13 so I definitely have ptsd. I'm going to study this word limerance more instead of focusing on him. He treats me like I'm a revolving door and I let him. I don't have to anymore.

You are doing God's work. You helped put a name to what I experienced for over 5 years. I'm now in a healthy relationship that's grounded in reality after crushing seriously on unavailable men for years. You are helping so many people to pull themselves into reality.
