You fail to mention the one real reason that the elite could drink so much was because they could all Afford the frickin alcohol prices. Even back in the 40s and 50s, the cost of Whiskey, Vodka, Rum and Very good champagne and wines. The average middle class working father couldn't afford alcohol prices every day and put food, pay mortgages, buy clothes for two or more kids, etc, etc .

Lauren Bacall was not an alcoholic, this is why she was able to control herself. Sinatra, Bogart and many others were alcoholics. It's the same thing with any group of friends, you're going to have some that are heavy drinkers but they are able to stop especially if they get a DUI, or their health starts to fade. Or they developed problems in their relationships. you have some that go out and have one or two and stop after that. Then you have friends like me that can keep going and going and going until utter destruction happens and you lose your job and you're married three times 😂😂😂. Fortunately that was a long time ago. I do think it's hereditary because my younger brother and sister both died from alcoholism before they were 50. I'm 63 now but I quit several years ago. Why am I saying all of this you might ask? It's to let anybody out there that struggling know that you can quit

A lot of these videos have the same thing in common- boozers and smokers- those vices ruined so many of these people, because it was accepted and tolerated- to the death of them
