i love this channel but i am not sure why people are in a tizzy about gen z not drinking as much. it's not out of moral conservatism. going out is expensive and alcohol is awful for our bodies. i'm 23 (born in 2003), did most of my drinking in college, and if i'm going to spend my money i'd rather it be for going out to eat. i cut my drinking by like 80% and feel much better physically.

Let’s be clear. If any conservatism is being shown by Gen Z, it’s strongly by the men (and it’s still the least of any generation) The women are extremely left, the most of any generation.

Why the hell would you bring coffee to an interview at all?

I wonder if with the coffee debate hot coffee is seen as acceptable in this instance because it's typically associated with older men in the workforce, but iced coffee is typically associated with younger women. And in this instance what kinda coffee is just a lense through which we subconsciously view these two types of people in a work place setting. If it's hot coffee it's seen as a more serious men-at-work vibe, but when it's iced coffee it's viewed as more casual and feminine and therefore taken less seriously.

I absolutely drank at 18... because I was in Mexico and it was legal. THE USA IS NOT THE ONLY COUNTRY. We aaaall need to go outside.

I've only ever interviewed for roles where I'd regularly be in computer labs/network closets/PC repair benches so bringing any sort of beverage to an interview would be immediately frowned upon. 🤷♂

I just saw a video of a man recording a woman who was clearly dancing, having fun, and enjoying herself. Filming her and telling her she looked a mess. The music was so loud that I don’t think she heard him and she was celebrating her birthday. The comments were horrific, laughing and agreeing with him on how she looked a mess and it was mainly women commenting.

As a gen Z I don’t think our alcohol avoidance has anything to do with being conservative. It has everything to do with alcohol being an expensive luxury. I only started drinking once I could get booze for free at work events haha. Add to that the popularity of THC alternatives. These are at a similar price point and don’t have the extensive long term side effects that alcohol consumption does.

The recruiter in the original video was talking about interviews for FORTUNE 500 COMPANIES. Period. Not all companies, not all interviews, not all situations. JFC

Idk I am Gen Z and 4 years into my corporate career. I have been working since I was 14. I take my career and my work extremely seriously. I have worked nights and weekends. What I have actually experienced is that many Gen Z struggle to delegate at work and tend to micromanage because everyone is super anxious. People want to work and feel like their work is important, GenZ is no different

My choice to avoid alcohol isn’t moral or political. I think it tastes bad, it’s expensive, and it worsens symptoms of my chronic illnesses. I don’t judge other people who choose to drink

Rule/norm breaking like having an iced coffee, especially in conservative cultures, is often a sign of privilege and status. Look at the presidency, it's only the plebs who get in trouble for stuff. How many GenZ, or anyone else, actually believe that if the video creator was interviewing a nepo-candidate, the video creator would have, or would be allowed to express, the same issue?
