  Bottom PCI-E slot on that board is x8 electrically and x16 physically. You can even see it on the video, as half of the slot lacks pins.

  Man, just those 6 drives at $340 each on amazon renewed brings the total up to $2040. But the price of those shucked drives are now $550 each.

  Good video, little advice.<br>Your bottom/side fan and GPU fan kind of competing with both trying to pull air from each other, you&apos;ll probably get better overall temps and cleaner airflow if you flip the bottom/side fan. This also goes for the PSU, it&apos;s competing against the CPU cooler and probably increasing cpu temps unnecessarily. Your case has a cutout for the PSU so if you flip it, it gets fresh air from outside and doesn&apos;t &quot;choke&quot; the CPU fan.

  If you are ever on a budget a old Xeon e5 &nbsp;is great and low idle (IF YOU CONFIGURE IT CORRECTLY *Most people do not) 30w ish. It allows for 4 channel ecc and 8 total ram slots. Go for a 2696 for tons of containers or a low power e5. Nice server btw Matt.

  You might wanna check the temps of that mellanox 3 NIC. These can run pretty hot if they aren&apos;t placed real servers cases with sufficient airflow. Hence, why that NIC only has a heatsink which isn&apos;t enough to cool it.<br>I&apos;ve got a mellanox 6 but put a small 40 mm on top of the heatsink to cool it down because it was running hot AF. Its a common issue using these cards in desktop cases which they really aren&apos;t designed for.

  I have almost the same setup except I use a 8 port HBA card to handle the drive connections. One thing you did not mention is that using TrueNAS you are not able to expand storage unless you create a separate pool which in my opinion is the biggest problem with TrueNAS. My pool is also 50TB, and I have 13TB free and I know when the time comes it will be a major pain to expand while trying to keep the folder structure the same in one pool. The only thing I can think of how I will do this is to temporarily offload all data to other drives and then copy back, but that will be expensive. I have been slowly going through my data and removing duplicates as much as possible, but I know this will not gain me much space and takes a lot of time. My server holds every photo and video I ever created and many other files I consolidated from external drives over the last 30 years of my life.
