I wore EVERYTHING in my wardrobe in 6 months; here's what I learned

Unknown to him, my husband is currently on a summer challenge that I created for him. He has way too many T-shirts, about 70. And of course he "needs" all of them. So this year whenever I have washed and dried one shirt I do not put it back on the regular pile. I hide it in the back of the top shelf of the closet. This way my husband will get to wear all or most of his shirts, and hopefully realize that there are some he doesn't like and can let go. So far my husband has not asked for a single one of the hidden shirts, I wonder how long it will take him to realize what I have been doing.

Lightbulb moment for me: I don’t always want the attention of being the best-dressed person in the grocery store.

Wearing every single item in your wardrobe feels like a quiet act of intention — it’s amazing how much clarity and personal style can come from simply using what we already own.

Im also doing this challenge, i like it a lot! Nothing is clearer than wearing an item for a day, to know whether to keep or declutter. I used the hanger flip technique.

Dress the way you want. Who cares what people think. I too don’t like attention but I also don’t care anymore lol. I started wearing mostly dresses and fantasy style when I was 28. I realized that I hated jeans (always had) that I love dresses and being girly. I was a teacher at the time and by being myself my students loved it too. I’m 44 now and I haven’t looked back. Go for it!

I love your comment that you may not have what you WANT to wear but you do have something you CAN wear

This was very interesting, especially since you took a completely different approach to what I'm currently doing, which is to track what I am wearing every day over the course of a year using an app, purposely not actively trying to wear everything, and see what ends up not being worn at the end. I'm at about the 5 months mark and am already seeing some interesting trends. I'm hoping that it will help me let go of items at the end, of course taking into consideration that special occasion items might be special cases, and see potential gaps for future sewing projects. 👙

The sweater vest looks amazing on you. When you came into the camera, I legit thought, oh , she is making her wardrobe work.

You look so good in colors like pistachio, terracotta, orange, light purple, orange. You have very nice clothes.

The tape was kind of genius tbh. Might try that in the winter - I find it so hard to actually wear my cold weather stuff. I default to just wearing a tshirt and hoodie over an actual sweater or long sleeve shirt.

OMG, formalwear! I never thought of that! I always felt guilty of not using everything everyday, but it's impossible to wear a night formal wear dress to do grosseries... And the tape: genius!👙
