10 Things I NEVER Pass Up at Thrift Stores & what I leave behind

Fun-fact share: I've always used "button up" and "button down" interchangeably.  I learned this week (at nearly 60 y.o.) that "button down" is reserved for those shirts that have the little button and hole to "button down" the collar, the rest are considered button ups... it's good to learn new things 😆

I only thrift fir myself.  I go to the mens section first when i thrift.  Button downs and twead jackets are my obession and a soft sweater if i can find them.  I am  plus size and i find the best things in that section.

Classic, unpretentious, quiet clothing.  Comfortable and well made.  This is what I look for.

My understanding is that “button-down” refers specifically to collars.  Regular buttoned shirts should be called buttoned-up.

One of my best thrifted finds ever was a LL Bean barn coat for $9.99 at Goodwill. I absolutely love it!  I generally find all LL Bean items to be excellent quality.

Lori,  Thank you for this video.  As a new youtuber who is not a reseller, love the way you address all the great thrifting that is out there but address the age specific and weight change in your life.  Definitely following a similar journey in that area.  Also you have a very soothing voice.  Thank you for sharing.

Really Loved this video..have been watching you for years but this one really hit home.  I am 57 and love finding cashmere and linen for resale.  I also love finding cool pottery or wood pieces for home decor.

My closet, indeed my entire house, is full of some awesome thrift store finds. I don't do any re-selling. I just shop for me and my family. 20 years ago, I helped my older son decorate his Brooklyn NY studio apartment with almost exclusively thrift store finds (mostly from Housing Works), including a very high quality studio-sized sofa. 10 years later, I did it again for his 2 BR apartment in Chicago. And I had an absolute blast doing it both times. I am 70 years old, and, like you, have been on a weight loss journey that I began this past December. Like you, I was also at 204 pounds, and am now down to the 160's - at 162. I am really enjoying saying goodbye to my large-sized clothes and getting to pull out some classic items that I had saved from when I was smaller (decades ago) that, because they are classics, are still in style and I can wear again. It feels great. Yay us!!!

I have a cotton sleeveless dress shirt that I know is an old Walmart brand. Gets better with each wash year after year. Looks like RL. Thrifted it easily 25 years ago.

Great video Lori. I have a vintage booth in an antique mall. Lately I’ve been sourcing older distressed Coach bags, and refurbish them to resell. I just found a Chloe handbag while thrifting and I bought it for $3! It needs a lot of work but should bring a good return.
