  I think retirement loneliness hits extroverts more than introverts. We introverts are so much looking forward to our alone time!

  I'm comfortable doing nothing in retirement. I taught and coached HS for 32 years. There's absolutely zero guilt for not being "productive."😂

  Not being near people is going to be the BEST thing about retiring.  Aside from the commute.  I was a Teleworker for 15 years and not being near people was the best time of my life.  And I don't need a 'boss' to tell me how to spend my time and days.  Are you kidding me??!  Come on people we are ADULTS here.

  Im 63, and after 28 years, i will b retiring in 30 days! Ive ALWAYS had an outside life away from the job? My real friends. So im pretty sure, after the last day that i walk out of that office, I WILL NEVER LOOK BACK!  Im looking forward to traveling and hosting a lavish holiday party for my family. I wont be concerned with needing an approval off days off or having to set up the dinner table for christmas 2 wks in advance because the other days will be filled with office work.  I MADE IT!!

  I wish people can normalize saying this is what retirement has meant for me. This is not the rules of retirement. I don't believe that I have to have a purpose. My purpose is to live and as the day goes, I'll find things to do. Yeah, it's an adjustment, of course, but these statements are for you personally that they don't apply to all people who retired sorry.

  I don’t have any friends at work and that’s the way I like it.   We have nothing in common especially politics. Can’t wait to retire next year.  Always preferred my own company.
