  I hang out with several retired senior citizens, none of them looked unhappy. Not one person said, I'm bored, they chair non-profits, sail the world, write books, etc.  I'm 59, but I love the autonomy of my job that allows me to travel.  I would offer that if you remove all the BS things at your job such as toxic people, goofy meetings, etc would you still do you actual job without pay?  If the answer is yes then keep working.  If you hate every single aspect of your job then it's time to retire.

  I will never wrap my worth around a job title. I see people not retiring because they have no life outside of their job. I love what I do, but it will never keep me from retiring. Pay me for my worth, not my job title.<br>Everybody has to pave their own road.

  if you retire at 62, you do NOT get Less money. The SS Money owed to you is a set amount. retiring early, simply means the SS department must amortize that set amount over more years, so the &quot;pay out&quot; or portion of that set amount is smaller; $100 paid out over 10 years is $10 a year. However, If you wait, that number of years the SS department expects to have to pay you is less...5 years then gets a payout of $20 a year. Not more money, just payed out differently, with regard to the number of years SS department thinks you&apos;ll live. For men in the USA, I think the average expected life span is 74 years old. SS department would love for you to decide to retire at age 72. Most men will die before getting ANY payments. And if do get to 72, most likely, and the odds are, SS department will only have to pay you 3 years of payments. <br><br>If you are worried about losing many of the aspects of &quot;work life,&quot; simply volunteer your skills. Believe me, people will value your and your time so much more when you do what you do best for free. Also, you can dictate more of your personal needs when you volunteer vs being employed. &quot;I&apos;m going to be away for 3 weeks in December&quot; vs &quot;Can I have off 2 weeks in December???&quot; <br><br>Im retired, and I enjoy working about 24 hrs / 3 days a week. I&apos;m thinking of doing 16 hrs a week, and volunteer 8 hrs a week someplace. It keeps me busy, and I still have plenty of time for leisure, with extra income to fund my fun time.   Anyone who CHOOSES to work into 60’s and beyond is nuts. &nbsp;That’s not living, that’s existing to fuel the system aka the govt

  How long ya think your going to live, or capable of doing stuff. I took it early. Got out of debt before hand. I&apos;m loving it.

  Social Security is a formula of 35 years. Add zeros in 35 years and it lowers the SSI. Most of the videos or just people complaining. Nothing of any worth in these videos.

  If, at 62, &nbsp;you have enough retirement income and don&apos;t NEED to continue working _ retire and take your SS early. <br><br>If you decide you want to work, just to get out of the house or stay busy, that&apos;s another thing, entirely. Or get a hobby (the one you put aside while working).
