This track is actually from their 1966 Lp "Revolver" but was on the soundtrack of their 1968 Yellow Submarine. This song was also from the 1966 Revolver Lp which just may be the greatest Lp in history along with their follow up Lp Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band released in 1967.<br> These four dudes were operating on a whole different level than everyone else.

The Beatles are a very deep rabbit hole—almost 250 songs in only 7 years—but worth pursuing. The biggest selling (almost a billion records!), most influential musical artists in history. Today’s music would be much different if The Beatles had never existed.

'Eleanor Rigby' is not from the 'Yellow Submarine' album. It's from the 'Revolver' album. However, the song does feature in the 'Yellow Submarine' MOVIE.

Those staccato spiccato violin and cello notes fit the mood of the song perfectly. It's written and sung by Paul McCartney but props also to producer George Martin for the string arrangement.
