Ram Is Giving Away $13,000 Trucks — Here's What They're Not Telling You

Ram is cutting up to $13,739 off a new Ram 1500 — 15% off. But on some of these trucks, taking the discount costs you MORE than paying full sticker. I ran the loan math on camera so you can check my work before you check your bank account. The offer, broken down: 15% off Rebel, Limited, Tungsten. 12% off Big Horn, Lone Star, Laramie. Just 8% off Tradesman the actual work truck gets the smallest discount. That's backwards, and backwards always means something. The fine print nobody reads: purchase only, no leases, RHO excluded, and reports conflict on whether it can be stacked. Get the bulletin number in writing. The Ram Tungsten depreciation problem: the 2025 Tungsten lost $20,000 in twelve months — 22% in year one. The biggest discount is on the truck that loses the most value. Three documented reasons: the used-market ceiling on luxury trucks, Tungsten being Hurricane-only after the Hemi V8 returned (10,000 orders in 24 hours), and second-owner fear of Hurricane engine issues out of warranty. The loan math, on camera: Take the $13,739 discount at 6.5% over 72 months → total paid $94,230. Pay full sticker with Ram's 0% over 60 months → total paid $91,595. Taking the discount costs $2,635 MORE. At three years, the discount path leaves about $7,000 in equity versus over $18,000 on the 0% path — an $11,000 swing. Same pattern on Laramie (~$4,500 more) and Tradesman (~$5,000 more). Where I argue against myself: 0% requires excellent credit, the 0% payment is higher ($1,527 vs $1,309), and if you pay cash, pay off early, or trade within two years, the discount wins. This trap only applies to buyers financing long and holding long. The trade-in trap that's worse than the discount: Edmunds reports record negative equity — nearly 30% of trade-ins underwater, average shortfall $6,884, record $944 average payment. Eight of the ten worst trade-ins in America are trucks. Number one isn't Ram — it's the Toyota Tundra at nearly $9,000 underwater, with the Ram 1500 right behind at over $8,000. Dealers have been documented lowballing trades by around $6,000, which can erase your entire discount before the paperwork prints. 👍 Like if this saved you money 🔔 Subscribe for truck deals, depreciation and real ownership costs — no dealer talk ram 1500 deals, ram 1500 discount, ram truck incentives, ram 1500 rebates 2026, best truck deals 2026, ram 1500 tungsten, ram tungsten depreciation, truck depreciation, worst truck depreciation, 0 percent financing vs rebate, cash back or low interest, should i take the rebate or 0 financing, car buying tips, dealer tricks, negative equity trade in, upside down car loan, 84 month car loan, ram 1500 resale value, hurricane engine problems, ram hurricane vs hemi, is the ram 1500 worth it, buying a new truck 2026, truck prices 2026, toyota tundra depreciation, trade in value tips, how to negotiate a truck price, gas tail
