  This will make a fine half track. You pared it down to the bones and they look good. Your Scout Car expert, well...  The mirror thing is a mess. Scout cars and Halftracks did not come with side mirrors. There were added to some later, but with bolt on parts. I cant post pics here. The round thing behind the booster is the trailer brake controller. If you look closer you will see the rod hooks to the brake, not the clutch. There is also a rheostat on the dash to fine adjust that brake. I beleive you will find those nuts holding the front sprockets on are the same as the Dodge 1/2 and 3/4 ton WW2 vehicle lug nuts.

  If you're complaining about the half-track, try working on the entire generation of Yank vehicles after WWII...that was the same rear brake setup for about every single one.  The only difference is that later on there was an adjuster at the bottom instead of a solid mount.  So glad I have only discs on the rear of my vehicles now.  I was also laughing at the language used for previous owners of the half-track.  How many times have I uttered the very same things about project vehicles I've worked on....
